Amazed

It has been a strange and wonderful journey for me since I've last blogged. God's love for me has been shown to me in such powerful ways. My first blessing has been the joy that is best described by a beautiful "friend"..... I know I shouldn't, but I am honestly blown away by God's timing and his grace when I feel I deserve nothing...but I suppose that is the greatness of grace. I also just want to say that although there have been some hardships this week as well....I am so grateful to those whose encouragements and love and tough honesty have brought me closer to Jesus and his love for me. This is a wonderful new adventure in my life and I invite all of you to share in this journey God is taking me on together!

Don't Pitty This Fool

Well I have to admit my blogging frequency is getting pathetic. The sad thing is my life has actually been full of exciting moments....I think I am just suffering from blogging fatigue. What a wonderful last few days it has been for me. I thought that I was going to have a miserable weekend because Peter (my non-blogging best friend) and Scottie B were both our of town and I would be in the guy's house. In addition, Jess and Rael left town for Spokane. It was however, a wonderful time of new friendships and just realizing how amazing God is.

Some of the many highlights from the weekend include baking (putting some kisses on peanut butter cookies),

watching some old school Wonka (Jamie singing along and freezing becuase I was too stuborn to bring a blanket), trying a chocolate marshmellow shake (not as bad as one might think), and hanging out in Polson with my dad (two good meals and lots of catching up).

I also learned that I am not as bad of a barber as I beleived, as I gave Scott a haircut last night. So whenever you see him next make sure to feel dazzled by my work. Although I can't lie, I did kinda mess up on the back...but Scott still looks mighty fine.

Also, something I've been meaning to do for a while now, my response to a challenge ... This is my version of Mr. T , not quite as good as Erin, but I think I am getting better!

Also I have been really enjoying a book called Dasappointment with God by Philip Yancey. Yancey looks at the questions is God unfair, is God silent, and is God hidden... It has been such a great reminder of God's desire just to have relationship with him and that His way of achieving this is through love and not force. One quote I liked was by Herman Melville, "The reason the mass of men fear God, and at the bottom dislike Him, is because they rather distrust his heart, and fancy Him all brain like a watch."

Movin' on up

It finally happened! A moment I have been waiting for since summer began, I moved out of the gross apartment and into the Chi Alpha's guys house. Peter and I are sharing a room upstairs, it is so sweet. As soon as we get a BBQ, I think it will bbe grilling time almost every night. I think I may try to convince Scott to spend some of the XA budget on a super nice grill...but I doubt he or our supporters will go for it. It seems that all that I have done lately is work and move, but there have been a few highlights...

On Tuesday after some moving I went to Ruby's with Jess and Erin, it was a good break from moving. I would say more, but I think that Erin says it best on her blog . As long as nobody feels that I would look better tanned and with frosted hair! I ripped up one of Erin's checks and was rewarded with a bag of bugles! Not too shabby...

On Wed night I enjoyed a nice BBQ at bonner park with Lance as the grill man. It was nice and was entertained by arm wrestling and more. Although Lance killed me in a leg wrestling match, I did beat James in a arm wrestling match and quickly retired undefeated. After some nice conversation on the swings I finished cleaning and spent my first night in the guys house.

I am just so excited to see where God is taking me through this guys house...just spending more time with Scott and getting able to become closer with my new housemates is going to be amazing. Everytime I think about I just automatically become stoked.... A new adventure with God sounds fun.

Another Night at the Ballgame

Once again Scottie B and I decided to spend our evening at the Missoula Osprey game. I am really glad we did. It was such a nice day that on our way to the game Scott and I stopped at a gas station to get two super enormous sodas to take to the game. However, the ticket people wouldn't let us take them into the stadium. I threw mine away, but Scott was sneaky.... he placed his cup in a hidden spot so he could come to the spot during the game to steal a drink... he is very wise. Since we were big winners last time, Scott and I decided we needed to be a part of a different promotion, so we talked to some people and got our way. Scott was part of this 8th inning promotion where they play the begining of a song and then you have to finish. They played "Clowns to the left of me,Jokers to the right, here I am," and Scott was correct by responding with,"Stuck in the middle with you." His prize was a 5 dollar gift card to hogeyville....pretty lame compared to my free massage. (the pic is Scott with his prize) The game was good also, Missoula even won 6-4. Another highlight was the polish dog I bought which was wonderful!

Nice Flames!

Well, since it has almost been a week since my last posting, I thought I should give an update on what has been going on in my life. It has been a great week for me. It started with a wonderful 4th of July in which I worked in the morning, took a nap, had dinner with Jess and Rael, and then watched the fireworks with Jess and Erin. It was a lot of fun, except Jess and Erin kept talking about bugles and I have been craving them ever since. Yesterday was another great day. During the evening I worked the Chi Alpha booth during orientation. I met some amazing people who seemed passionate in pursuing what God has in store for them. It really gets me excited to be around college kids and see God's heart for them. It just reassures my desires to use my gifting to help college age kids become locked into a relationship with Jesus. This age can be so confusing and painful, yet I love watching troubled hearts set free by the love of God. Also, there was free Minute Maid juices at the orientation. Being a broke college kid, I never buy juice, so I made up for it by drinking as many juices as possible! After the orientation, about ten of us went to fort fizzle to go to a bonfire. As this lovely picture shows, Scott and Lance did a great job of keeping us warm! It was a beautiful night to watch stars and have great conversation. I then came home a had a good talk with Peter about what God has been doing in our lives. To make the day complete, I have today off so I even was able to sleep in!

Breakfast of Champions!

On Sunday I had to work at liquid planet. It was a bummer because not only did I have to get up at 5:30, but I had to miss church. However my morning was brightened up by a visit from Jess and Rael. I had the lucky privilege of making Jess a crepe. Of all the choices Jess chose the one with Salmon, cream cheese, and red/ green onions. Now I am not one to criticize another person's eating habits, but it definitely would not be my first choice. Shockingly, Jess loved the crepe! Her favorite part was the side salad. I never knew that I was such a great cook! It is nice to know that I have another hidden skill. It was just another exciting day at the planet.

Late Bday blog!

I just didn't think it was right that Ed's bday blog didn't have a

pic of herself, so I figured I would make my own posting. The highlight of my night was enjoying some fruit tea at liquid planet. It is made just from dried fruits and is supposed to be for kids, but I figured since I am a kid at heart I would enjoy it. I made a wise choice because it tastes like a hot capri-sun, which in case you were wondering, is amazing. Then Rael and I visited Jess at the St. Pat house and tried to figure out(debated) what would be the best Worship album ever. Jess wants to burn a cd of all of her faves, but it is tough narrowing it down! I know...a pretty wild friday night.
