I hope that everybody is enjoying the last few days of summer.....Eating big dipper and lots of BBQ; I know that I have. Well this blog is more for me than anyone else because it is a sports posting .... In 1996 my beloved Seattle Mariners made their best trade ever, they traded Darren Bragg for Jamie Moyer. Jamie Moyer has since been a star for the Mariners and recently became the most winning pitcher in Mariner history. Moyer is one of my favorite players and one of just a few doing well. (the Mariners are currently in a ten game losing streak). Sadly enough last night the Mariners traded Moyer to the Philadelphia Philles for two minor league players. Although it is likely a good trade for the future of my teamI will miss Moyer for his great pitching and for all the wonderful things he has done for the city of Seattle. He has many charities; most of which help children. I guess I will be a Phillies fan for the rest of the season because the Mariners have no hope of making the playoffs.....just maybe Moyer can bring a world series to the Phillies.

Oregon Tales

Alas, another posting......another attempt at explaining what I have been up to. It has been kinda a crazy last couple weeks in my life. From deep joy to deep sadness it has just been a little draining. However, this morning I took a nice little walk and just spent some time praying and talking to God on a beautiful Oregon trail (not the hit game from our childhood). I am always amazed by our God. As I sit and complain and wonder if things will ever work out, His response is ,"Do not worry, I love you." Which seems to me to be the best response I could get. The moral of this post I suppose is that God is wonderful and even though this adventure with God can be hectic at times, it is the best place to be. I am even a little excited to see where this day might take me......

Greetings From Missouri

What an adventure God has been taking me on this past week....I am currently in Springfield Missouri at a conference on college ministry leadership. I took a massive road trip with a pair of ladies I just met...(they are quickly becoming Best Friends Forever) Along the way I learned a few things. Wyoming has a lot of Antelope...Nebraska is the birthplace of Kool-Aid... and Lightning Bugs are the coolest thing ever!!! I have never seen these precious creatures before, I hope they learn to breed in montana. God is doing amazing things here for me... I am blown away by his freshness and love. I miss you all so much, but each night is a new revelation of how amazing God is....See ya soon!

Update and a confession

Well, here I go again...explaining how sorry I am for not blogging. I am now out of excuses for my lack of blogging because I now have a computer. I have been super busy with school and work and such, which should count as a good excuse. Recently though, my eyes have been opened.. and I am not alone! Lance, Zach, Shuff, and I are just a few of the many believers..With more that a handful of recipes, the newest one is pigs in a comforter: a hot dog, melted cheese, all in a heated pita. I miss blogging, but just don't have enough time. School, work and Chi Alpha take up most of my time. Things have been going well for me lately, except for school......although it is fun having Lance in my Russian Lit class!

The reason for this blog is to share my super bowl sadness. As most should know, I am a huge Seattle sports fan, being raised listening and watching the Mariners (baseball), Sonics (basketball), Huskies (college), and Seahawks (football). For the first time in my lifetime one of my teams played for the championship. Superbowl XL (40) had my Seahawks against the Steelers. Sadly my team lost, dropped passes, poor clock management, and questionable calls all lead to mourning. I am surviving though.....if nothing else pitchers and catchers report to spring training next week!

Enjoying Home

Well here it is..... a new posting from me! For some good reasons like my computer being broke and many lame reasons such as not feeling like it, I have kept my blogging friends in the dark. I am in Oregon right now with my mother. It is so nice to be home and catch up with family. I just had a fun dinner at Joe's Crab Shack on waterfront, which is always amazing. Several things have occured since I've last blogged so I don't really know where to begin. I don't think it is any real secret to why my blogging has slipped...besides work I have been spending lots of free time with my lovely girl (pictured drinking root beer). I am getting very excited because on Saturday after work Erin and I are going to drive to Vancouver Washington to visit some of my family. I don't want to sound negative towards Montana, but I miss home so much and just can't wait to see it. It is a struggle for me because when I left home to come to Montana I was such a different man than the one I am now......I have so many broken relationships and I desire so much to spend some time at home to work on fixing them. However, God is blessing me so much here in Missoula and I know I just need to be patient and seek God in all things. It should be a fun trip though, I just hope Erin doesn't go crazy having to spend so much time with me! I will try (but likely fail) to update my blog during this sure to be exciting trip!

The Perfect Man

Now I know that romance has seemed to be creeping into our inner circle.......but this one has what it takes. It began when my dear friend Jess shared her feeling that a certain celeb was the hottest man alive.... I was shocked because I think that Patrick Stewart is frail. I know that most of you are shocked because Jess talks so much about another star . A couple nights ago she sent me a picture of Stewart located in a Missoula pawn shop, I knew I had to buy it for her! I purchased Patrick and gave him to Jess at work. Jess was stoked, her only problem is that it seems that most star trek stars refuse to wear clothes, except for big black boots. Jess claims that she will make him some clothes...but he remains naked. Well Jess, best of luck to you and your new man!

Arnie, pie, and God

Well, once again I'm slacking on the blogging. Sadly, interesting things have happened, I just never think I have a good enough picture to go with my blog. My first highlight involves a little man I like to call Arnie. On tuesday I tried one of his refreshing half ice tea and half lemonade beverages. Not only is he one heck of a golfer, he makes a mean drink that is on sale for 99 cents for 23.5 oz at Safeway. It also comes in a cool can with his golf stats and such. The best part of my day was after my drink when my amazing girfriend made me an amazing peanut butter pie. She proved her wiseness by using twice the dosage of Jiff...my kinda woman! I am happy to report it is already more than half of the way finished. My last comment is just more about how great God has been to me. Hearts are getting healed, and I really feel big things are happening. At work especially I can feel God pursuing those around me with a passionate love, I am stoked to see what the school year will bring!

Amazed

It has been a strange and wonderful journey for me since I've last blogged. God's love for me has been shown to me in such powerful ways. My first blessing has been the joy that is best described by a beautiful "friend"..... I know I shouldn't, but I am honestly blown away by God's timing and his grace when I feel I deserve nothing...but I suppose that is the greatness of grace. I also just want to say that although there have been some hardships this week as well....I am so grateful to those whose encouragements and love and tough honesty have brought me closer to Jesus and his love for me. This is a wonderful new adventure in my life and I invite all of you to share in this journey God is taking me on together!

Don't Pitty This Fool

Well I have to admit my blogging frequency is getting pathetic. The sad thing is my life has actually been full of exciting moments....I think I am just suffering from blogging fatigue. What a wonderful last few days it has been for me. I thought that I was going to have a miserable weekend because Peter (my non-blogging best friend) and Scottie B were both our of town and I would be in the guy's house. In addition, Jess and Rael left town for Spokane. It was however, a wonderful time of new friendships and just realizing how amazing God is.

Some of the many highlights from the weekend include baking (putting some kisses on peanut butter cookies),

watching some old school Wonka (Jamie singing along and freezing becuase I was too stuborn to bring a blanket), trying a chocolate marshmellow shake (not as bad as one might think), and hanging out in Polson with my dad (two good meals and lots of catching up).

I also learned that I am not as bad of a barber as I beleived, as I gave Scott a haircut last night. So whenever you see him next make sure to feel dazzled by my work. Although I can't lie, I did kinda mess up on the back...but Scott still looks mighty fine.

Also, something I've been meaning to do for a while now, my response to a challenge ... This is my version of Mr. T , not quite as good as Erin, but I think I am getting better!

Also I have been really enjoying a book called Dasappointment with God by Philip Yancey. Yancey looks at the questions is God unfair, is God silent, and is God hidden... It has been such a great reminder of God's desire just to have relationship with him and that His way of achieving this is through love and not force. One quote I liked was by Herman Melville, "The reason the mass of men fear God, and at the bottom dislike Him, is because they rather distrust his heart, and fancy Him all brain like a watch."

Movin' on up

It finally happened! A moment I have been waiting for since summer began, I moved out of the gross apartment and into the Chi Alpha's guys house. Peter and I are sharing a room upstairs, it is so sweet. As soon as we get a BBQ, I think it will bbe grilling time almost every night. I think I may try to convince Scott to spend some of the XA budget on a super nice grill...but I doubt he or our supporters will go for it. It seems that all that I have done lately is work and move, but there have been a few highlights...

On Tuesday after some moving I went to Ruby's with Jess and Erin, it was a good break from moving. I would say more, but I think that Erin says it best on her blog . As long as nobody feels that I would look better tanned and with frosted hair! I ripped up one of Erin's checks and was rewarded with a bag of bugles! Not too shabby...

On Wed night I enjoyed a nice BBQ at bonner park with Lance as the grill man. It was nice and was entertained by arm wrestling and more. Although Lance killed me in a leg wrestling match, I did beat James in a arm wrestling match and quickly retired undefeated. After some nice conversation on the swings I finished cleaning and spent my first night in the guys house.

I am just so excited to see where God is taking me through this guys house...just spending more time with Scott and getting able to become closer with my new housemates is going to be amazing. Everytime I think about I just automatically become stoked.... A new adventure with God sounds fun.

Another Night at the Ballgame

Once again Scottie B and I decided to spend our evening at the Missoula Osprey game. I am really glad we did. It was such a nice day that on our way to the game Scott and I stopped at a gas station to get two super enormous sodas to take to the game. However, the ticket people wouldn't let us take them into the stadium. I threw mine away, but Scott was sneaky.... he placed his cup in a hidden spot so he could come to the spot during the game to steal a drink... he is very wise. Since we were big winners last time, Scott and I decided we needed to be a part of a different promotion, so we talked to some people and got our way. Scott was part of this 8th inning promotion where they play the begining of a song and then you have to finish. They played "Clowns to the left of me,Jokers to the right, here I am," and Scott was correct by responding with,"Stuck in the middle with you." His prize was a 5 dollar gift card to hogeyville....pretty lame compared to my free massage. (the pic is Scott with his prize) The game was good also, Missoula even won 6-4. Another highlight was the polish dog I bought which was wonderful!

Nice Flames!

Well, since it has almost been a week since my last posting, I thought I should give an update on what has been going on in my life. It has been a great week for me. It started with a wonderful 4th of July in which I worked in the morning, took a nap, had dinner with Jess and Rael, and then watched the fireworks with Jess and Erin. It was a lot of fun, except Jess and Erin kept talking about bugles and I have been craving them ever since. Yesterday was another great day. During the evening I worked the Chi Alpha booth during orientation. I met some amazing people who seemed passionate in pursuing what God has in store for them. It really gets me excited to be around college kids and see God's heart for them. It just reassures my desires to use my gifting to help college age kids become locked into a relationship with Jesus. This age can be so confusing and painful, yet I love watching troubled hearts set free by the love of God. Also, there was free Minute Maid juices at the orientation. Being a broke college kid, I never buy juice, so I made up for it by drinking as many juices as possible! After the orientation, about ten of us went to fort fizzle to go to a bonfire. As this lovely picture shows, Scott and Lance did a great job of keeping us warm! It was a beautiful night to watch stars and have great conversation. I then came home a had a good talk with Peter about what God has been doing in our lives. To make the day complete, I have today off so I even was able to sleep in!

Breakfast of Champions!

On Sunday I had to work at liquid planet. It was a bummer because not only did I have to get up at 5:30, but I had to miss church. However my morning was brightened up by a visit from Jess and Rael. I had the lucky privilege of making Jess a crepe. Of all the choices Jess chose the one with Salmon, cream cheese, and red/ green onions. Now I am not one to criticize another person's eating habits, but it definitely would not be my first choice. Shockingly, Jess loved the crepe! Her favorite part was the side salad. I never knew that I was such a great cook! It is nice to know that I have another hidden skill. It was just another exciting day at the planet.

Late Bday blog!

I just didn't think it was right that Ed's bday blog didn't have a

pic of herself, so I figured I would make my own posting. The highlight of my night was enjoying some fruit tea at liquid planet. It is made just from dried fruits and is supposed to be for kids, but I figured since I am a kid at heart I would enjoy it. I made a wise choice because it tastes like a hot capri-sun, which in case you were wondering, is amazing. Then Rael and I visited Jess at the St. Pat house and tried to figure out(debated) what would be the best Worship album ever. Jess wants to burn a cd of all of her faves, but it is tough narrowing it down! I know...a pretty wild friday night.

Coffee and Mini Horses

On Sunday I had enjoyed the easiest work day of my life. My friend Dana and I drove to Hamilton in the Liquid Planet Shooting Star Vehicle to make coffees at a miniature horse show. It was the first time I had ever been so close to a mini horse. It was quite an event. Although it was interesting to see the horses, coffee sales were not so happening. Dana and I made only 22 coffees in more than 4 hours. In addition, we only made 75 cents each in tips! So I continue to be a broke college kid. The most creepy event was the costume show were the horses and their owners dressed up. The costumes ranged from a tropical horse, a horse dressed like a cow, and the scariest..a horse wearing a wedding dress. It was just confirmation that Montana is the strangest place on earth. It also taught me that no matter what my future daughter may say, I will never purchase a horse.

I need Imput

Alright fellow bloggers I am turning to you for advice. Scottie B and I went and had a blast. Not only was it a good game, but I caught a free bag of peanuts during some between innings promo and also won a free 30 min massage for leading the stadium in the singing of Take Me Out To The Ballgame. For all of you that doubt that good things can happen by attending a sporting event I laugh. Despite all of my good fortune the Osprey blew a lead and lost in extra innings...Oh well, I guess I can't have everything I want! By the way I took this photo upside down and don't know how to fix it...until I talk to Lance of course! Never mind Rael helped me!!! I am just sitting here with Peter eating popcorn, drinking 7-Up, and watching Futurama..... what a dinner! First I must say that if you haven't already, you must check out my pal Ed's blog http://knitload.blogspot.com/ , she has a link to a sweet place to make cartoon characters! I must say that I had a wonderful weekend thanks to a wonderful God inspired chat I had Saturday night with Jess. As I've earlier indicated this summer has been testing me, but I am experiencing such a peace.. In about 3 weeks Peter and are moving to the Chi Alpha guy's house. I am so thrilled to just be around a bunch of goofy Christians all the time. Also this Tuesday marks the beginning of the season for the Missoula Osprey, a single A farm team of the Arizona Diamondbacks. I love baseball and nothing beats seeing a game live and for some reason hot dogs bought at baseball parks always taste amazing! I am hoping to make fans of all of my friends... which won't be easy! For those who don't know what a single A farm team means, it is a teams that consists of players (mostly young rookies) who have been drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks. In other words young athletes fighting to prove worthy to be in the majors. Well I hope to see you all at the ballpark!

Time For An Update!!

I figured it was about time that I wrote another blog entry... Lance and Rael are making me feel bad with their 5 posts a day! Here is a new picture of me with Emma and her new toy my sister and I named Mr. Quack Quack. I am so happy because Jess and Scott are back! (also Rael and Jill from their little trip) It has been a very tough summer for me at times with most of my friends gone away. Luckily I've been blessed with my sister, Peter, Lance and others to keep me from going too insane. I have no desire to go back to school, but I would sacrafice just to have my friends back. I think that this is just a season that I need to go through to build trust with God and discover my real dreams and talents. It's amazing to me to have a God that can look through all of our ugliness and failures and actually see something worth dying for.
